Pancakes with beer.. i would never dare to try that, both cooking and eating Razz
Unless you, Viv made them of course. Somehow I'd be able to trust u in the kitchen.. well, if you experiment it means you're pretty confident, eh?

it's been a really long time since we saw anything written/created by you, Viv. So why don't you develop one of your school stories just a little bit further?
Never say never!

Hey, what about a topic wioth storys written in English? Do you girls actually write in this foreign language, or just in Polish?

As you might have seen I write also in english ... But to do so, I really need kind of motivation, strong one.

I noticed that some of the school stories, which I have to write on my English classes, undergo a drastic change at home, and becomes a fully developed pieces of writting. Laughing

Cytat:
Oh, and there's ONE meal that even I can't screw up!

Ekhm ... there is always a possibility of screwing up anything or everything , Draco Razz U can forget about adding eggs to the dough, put potato flour instead of the normal one ... Never say never :hamster_evil:

Btw, few days ago me and my friends were making our own pancakes with different substitutes for milk. Instead of it, we added e.g beer, juice or even Coke Laughing

And U know what? We made it! They were delicious! :hamster_beautiful:

Why? I dunno... probably out of curiosity or my own, infamous idleness Smile Just look at me: in this very moment I should be sitting at my desk, translating wildly all the documents that yet need to be translated, such as my school record... or at least finishing the episode for draco-maleficium, which I've half-written already... and here I am, writing new posts on this forum. Geez, I need to get a grip on myself! :\

The scholarship programme that I've mentioned refers to students from post-communistic countries (so, regrettably or thankfully, Poland). The university is free of charge, and additionally you are given a scholarship, a free apartment and a part-time job (if your English is on high level, this might even be an office work!). I wish I could go there, especially that it is in Glasgow, where they have a really HUGE library... But I don't even know what courses to take! Creative writing... sounds good Wink

Manchester? Whoa, that's wonderful! I hope everything goes well next time, and soon, because England is truly a land of pure magic. Only a short week in there and I'm totally hooked.

And yeah, I WILL fight those chickens next time, providing they'll be dead enough not to move and strike back Razz Oh, and there's ONE meal that even I can't screw up! *Draco's standing with her chin triumphantly high-up* And that is... pancakes, with meat, preferrably. If only I remember not to leave them on the frying pan for too long, they turn out quite fine. Which is a huge success in my case! Smile

Oh, Draco, I was thinking about a diploma (Masters Degree) in Dundee actually... they have a lot of mind-blowing courses there... the one I'm particularly interested in is "Women, Culture and Society". But as for now this is "dream on" thing Wink. Did you think about Creative Writing, or something? I mean - I know there is still a lot of time, but are the scholarships anyhow oriented towards you being a writer in the future?

If only everything had gone the right way, I would be in Manchester today *added Shield matter-of-factly*. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go there this year, and I long for the mysterious meeting with the English countryside... and industry, as far as Manchester is concerned Twisted Evil . NOT to mention Edinburgh and the international theatre festival, which takes place there annually, in August... Wah!

I wonder what happened to the usually talkative Padma Razz

I remember myself cooking cookies (Wink) without baking powder when I was 15. One forgets one simple ingredient and everything is shambles... You can't give up, just fight those chickens, they're dead anyway Razz.
Greetz!
PS. Why did you hesitate? A second ago I noticed a mistake as big as an elephant in one of my previous posts... Such a thing should never have happened * Shield flagellates herself*.

Well, girls, I'm pretty impressed even though I hesitated a while before entering the subject. Ireland truly is breathtaking, at least from what I saw in the pictures from those areas... but then again, so is the whole United Kingdom. Oh, how I wish I could live there, in England, Scotland, Ireland or Wales, in some kind of an old, gothic mansion, wearing medieval dresses and flowing, dark cloaks... Well, dream on, as my English teacher would say Smile Maybe, if I succeed with the American diploma, I could use the Scottish scholarship programme, which is very appealing... We'll see Wink

And as for the recipes, I must shamefully admit that I'm worse than lousy in the kitchen. I agree that it's a creative activity, but I just can't set my mind on it properly and every single attempt at making even as simple a dish as, say, chicken, ends up with loads of smoke and even more burnt meat... Hopeless Smile

How's the argument going? Hope it's finished... I hate quarrelling with my sister, as rarely as it happens

I can't see the monster you mentioned... Wink Apart from the fact that a shadow is hanging over your head (Razz), please tell me - are those things you're standing on ROCKS or something??
Still my fav is the second one, with the beach.
But I think that those regions do look beautiful. Just how does one pronounce "Inistige"? "Ynystydż"? Wink

And as to the cooking - I perceive it rather as something creative rather than hyde, so the topic will be in "Creative" as for now, if it will get lively we'll think of something else.
Unless of course you want to read recipes in Eng only Twisted Evil . I had a month of that during my translation course this year Twisted Evil ...

And my hand is ok today, just as my mood... <= completely opposite to yesterday. As usual.

Heh, all right folks, I'll post here some of the pics that were taken at the seaside a week ago Wink I hope you'll like it (though I'm in them Razz)
(and about that landscapes Firith... yes it's quite like that... grenn fields, old castles and picturesques ruins... many little sheep, rocks and beautiful cliffs... and so many golf fields Wink)

so it's in Inistige

and that's in County Wexford

and that's Inistige, again Wink do you guys know, that in Inistige was shot the movie "In circle of friends" with Minnie Driver? Smile

and that's in County Wexford, again... don't look at the monster - it's me Evil or Very Mad

Where did you get these pictures from, Firith? They're awesome! Now I want to go there too Smile

Anyway, I agree - it sucks to work during holidays, and it also sucks not to be able to go far away, as I would love to...

Let's grumble a bit in this topic... Wink - for example, I burnt my hand today! I sacrificed it for one of my favourite cakes - called brownies, typical American cake! Anyone wants the recipe? Wink

Actually, I didn't know what I was doing... Wink Forgive for my English, but I'm having a year's break, so I forgot almost everything...

Anyway, I'm coming back about 10 August... And I'd like to come back asap, because I'm not enjoying my stay in here anymore. I quarrelled (correct spelling?) with my sister and it seems seriously, we haven't talked to each other since yesterday (so, for us, it's quite a long time). And, besides, my job sucks. I'm so lazy and I can't get used to working during holiday!

So now I'm gonna cry....

Thanks God I have my jmusic here... and I can enter this world anytime I want...

Hey! What a nice topic. Let's hope it'll get lively Wink! After all, we have holidays... and Eng sometimes seems to be a subject taught only against our own will (at least it happens so with me Razz).
Yes, mistakes are inevitable. I can - and I WILL - correct them. Sensibly. Only the outrageous ones. Self-correction is SO MUCH better. I know, I know, you'll say "I can't correct myself, as I don't know what's wrong"...
But there are three main rules that I always follow in my essays, paragraphs etc.
1. Check all the articles. If that "a" or "the", sort of, falls naturally into place, put it there Wink
2. Read the text thoroughly (in fact, it is best to do it aloud) and check whether there are any words or constructions similar to the Polish ones.
3. Last but not least - check the spelling.

I am also curious... how is it there, in the sweet Ireland, and when will you get back, Padma (in Nominative, as we use Nom in Eng Wink)
Take care!
Villemo

Great idea, Padma. Wink Well, I'm sure I'll make a lot of mistakes, but I have to practise my English and it's impossible to practise without making mistakes, isn't it? Besides, Shield is very helpful person and she'll certainly improve me. Shield? Very Happy Padmo, when are you going to come back to Poland?
Padma
PostWysłany: Śro 12:10, 19 Lip 2006    Temat postu: Only in English!

Weekend or not weekend? Who cares... Wink

So I established this topic for those, who'd like to write in English Smile No matter what, no matter how - just in that Shakespear's language! Don't bother if you make some mistakes - everyone does!

btw. I don't want to see any single word in Polish!
